Thomas H. Richards

Prior to becoming Executive Director for Resolution-Now, LLC, Thomas Richards was, for several years, of Counsel to the firm of Cook and Molan in Concord, New Hampshire. Mr. Richards spent the majority of his professional career as a senior litigation partner at Sheehan, Phinney, Bass & Green (SPB&G) in Manchester. His area of specialty was in complex litigation, involving corporate, commercial, antitrust and environmental matters. He represented a variety of clients including many Fortune 500 companies in both Federal and State Courts. As an officer, director and shareholder of SPB&G, he helped establish and served on the firm's management committee and was a long-time chair of its litigation department.

During his legal career, Mr. Richards was active in both the Manchester and New Hampshire Bar Associations, serving on a variety of committees and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) panels. He served on the NH Supreme Court’s Long Range Planning Committees, on the NH Judicial Counsel and was the first Vice President of the NH Bar to serve on the Professional Conduct Committee. Mr. Richards was a long-time member of the Panel of Commercial Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association.

Mr. Richards received his law degree from New York University School of Law where he was a Root Tilden Fellow. He is a 1964 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of New Hampshire and grew up in New Hampshire's seacoast region.

Shortly after joining the NH Bar in 1967, he served a tour of duty with the US Army. His first tour was as a top-secret courier with the Armed Force Courier Service stationed in New York City. His second tour was as a Captain with the 25th Infantry Division stationed at Cu Chi, Vietnam.

Mr. Richards is a former member and officer of the New Hampshire Bar Association Board of Governors, a former President of the New Hampshire Bar Association, and served as Secretary and Chairman of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation. He is an Emeritus Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and The International Society of Barristers and a Life Fellow of The American Bar Foundation and The New Hampshire Bar Foundation. He has been listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, the Best Lawyers in America, and the Best Lawyers in New Hampshire.
